Privacy policy
1. What the app does
Rebobi uses your phone’s microphone to continuously keep the last few minutes of sound around you (from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, your choice), so you can listen again to something you just missed. Recording only starts when you tap “Start remembering” and is shown by a persistent notification while active.
2. Data handled and where it stays
- Ambient audio: recorded and stored only in the app’s private storage on your device. Audio older than the chosen window is deleted automatically.
- Preferences: retention window and app settings, stored only on the device.
- Operation log: times when recording started, paused or was interrupted, used to show periods without audio. It contains no audio and no conversation content. The test (alpha) version also keeps a detailed technical log, likewise without content, stored only on the device.
None of this data is sent to us or to third parties. The app has no internet permission and uses no analytics, ads or tracking.
3. Backup and uninstalling
Rebobi’s data is excluded from Android automatic backup and device-to-device transfer. Uninstalling the app deletes all audio and preferences.
4. When data leaves the app
Only by your action: when you export a clip, an audio file is saved to your phone’s Downloads folder; from then on it is under your control and other apps with file access can open it. In the test version you can also share the technical log manually, for example with the people testing the app. None of this happens automatically.
5. Other people
Rebobi captures the sound around you, which may include other people’s voices. Use it respectfully, tell people when it makes sense and follow your country’s recording laws. You are responsible for how recordings and exported files are used.
6. Your controls
- Pause recording at any time from the notification.
- Choose how long audio is kept.
- Delete all retained audio in the app settings.
- Revoke the microphone permission in Android settings.
7. Children
Rebobi is not directed to children and should not be used by anyone under 18.
8. Changes and contact
